The Portable Document Format was created by Adobe in the 1990s to offer a way to preserve visual formatting from various authoring programs and allow people to share files anywhere on any machine. PDF offers many accessibility features, but they must be deliberately incorporated — they don’t happen by accident. This curriculum will explore techniques for creating accessible PDF documents, from simple letters to complex forms.
