Overview of the ADA: Basic Concepts

Audience:

The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 is a broad civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in the areas of employment, state and local government programs, public transportation, places of public accommodation and commercial facilities, telecommunications, and other areas of civic life. In this course, you will gain an understanding of the requirements under titles 1 through 5 of the ADA. While the ADA is a comprehensive law with many details and specific standards, the purpose of this course is to provide awareness and familiarity with the basic, general concepts of the ADA.
